Compatibility List of USB network devices (wired & wireless) for LS300
 

Just trying to compile a list of working USB network adapters for the camera's live streaming connection. I'm including USB 3 adapters here because, by default, most USB network adapters are USB 3 these days - hopefully a few will be backward compatible.


Wired (Ethernet):

AmazonBasics USB 3.0 GbE: Testing
Rankie SuperSpeed USB3.0 1GbE: NOT COMPATIBLE

Wireless:

I use an 'Edimax EW-7811Un N150 Wireless USB Adapter Nano' with my LS300.
I leave it permanently plugged into the camera as it's very small.

Some clients use the remote viewer function to view/log the timecode.

Looks like I'm currently failing at my wireless adapter testing as the camera is unable to connect to certain network configurations (networks with WDS setups for example.)

I'll resume a little later. ;)

I have a GY-HM200U with the 12/26/2017 firmware update.

Yesterday I tried two different USB->Ethernet wired connectors and neither will establish a manual or DHCP connection to my NetGear router.

One required drivers, which could have been the issue, but the 2nd (cheaper!) requires no drivers and immediately self-configured on both Windows 10 and MacBook Pro, both with up-to-the-minute operating systems patched.

So I ordered the recommended D-Link DUB-E100 from Newegg, but in looking at the specs, it doesn't seem to be distinctive in any way, compared to other wired connections that are available, except for the need of drivers (or not).

What seems to be the basic issue, is that the camera-based software has VERY limited and strict parameters for establishing a connection with the router. Manual input of IP, NETMASK, etc from the camera SHOULD be able to connect, but all combinations I've tried failed (6-7 hrs of trying yesterday!).

I'd be very grateful to hear from anyone who can suggest what to do.

I'm delighted to be able to report that I've been able to make a NETGEAR AC600 DUAL BAND wireless adapter stream to YouTube.

Configuring the camera is among the most non-intuitive things that I've tackled recently.

I bought the adapter @ BestBuy for $40+tax.
