Stills from the GZ-HD7

In my "JVC GZ-HD7 Handbook" I cover the many still camera features offered by the HD7. However, until I took a vaction I really hadn't used the camcorder as a camera. Using the Bracket Exposure Mode, I took lots of 1920x1080 pix at a lake.

With an SD card, the HD7 auto-starts iPhoto so you can import stills. Here are a few photos without correction.

The three sunset are NORMAL, MINUS 1/3-stop, and last, PLUS 1/3-stop.

Each photo is one 1920x1080 capture from 3 CCDs. So we are looking at a 2MB capture which is obviously not what current Digicameras offer. But, reduced to 720x480 images for the WEB they look great.

Enjoy.
