change firmware

Is it possible to change the firmware on a JVC GX-HD7.
I bought one in Japan when I was there but I thought that it could switch between 60i or 50i... But its stuck in 60i.

I would like to film in 50i instead (i live in sweden so we use the PAL system) and its also closer to 24P :)

To even go step further...anyway to switch from optical image stabilization to the electronic image stabilization? Would that too be a simple firmware change? I find the HD3 more effective in this regard than the HD7...
