JVC Apple Plugin ...?

Does the Apple Plugin from JVC need Apple Quicktime Pro or the Apple MPEG plugin?
I just learned that Apple doesn't sell ANYTHING to US-territories.

Is there a way around?

It's self contained. But remember it only works in iMovie 06 HD and in the QT Player. It does nothing if you use FCP or iMovie 08.

That's good enough for me. Thanks for the info.

However, if I shoot in CBR, I can stream the video into FCE just like "normal" DV without any plugins? Is my understanding right on this one?
