Well,

I was wondering if this camera is good enough to do like weddings and maybe snowboarding and skating clips. For action stuff i would be using several 8Gb or 16Gb SDHC cards. I would probably get a hot shoe light some sticks and looking into some other lenses. Sorry if I am asking dumb questions as I have only been doing videography since January of 2008.

I mean are these compact HD camcorders good for doing this type of work and publish it for sale. I was even thinking about supplementing the income by selling stock footage too. Is this camcorder worthy of the work?

I would be looking at something without a hard drive for action footage or extreme climates. I think that Canon and Panasonic offer excellent options for memory-only recording in HD. If you are doing a lot of outdoors then you dont want the HDD to be affected.

tha's true about HDD being affected, but for those I would be using solid state memory for this.

So, I want to know what you all think about this for doing the other stuff like selling stock footage. Is this unit good enough for that?

I've a good friend who owns a VERY large stock house. He's really only interested in Sony EX1 video. Not to say you can't sell it, but don't assume you can. Contact the house first.
