thanks

GZ is consumer. GY is professional.
Not that there's anything wrong with GZ cams but you will find more information in a GZ forum.

Moved to our JVC Everio forum (which has just been re-named to include the consumer GZ-HM series).

I just had a chance to pick it up and play with a bit at my local "denki-ya-san". It looks very promising, so I am now looking over the specs on the web site... looking for more info on the manual controls.

great

looks promising but I have to say I still don't like anything MPG2 or the AVCHD... and at this price the Pentax K7 looks like the best deal.... no one seems to like the MJPEG format of the K7 but Betacam was edited on this for years ,,, Plus one shouldn't need to upgrade the computer just for a new camcorder..

no 24p? Not for me... Guess I'll have to pick up a Canon HV40 as a 3rd danger/underwater cam. Sorry JVC.

of course if I got a Blackmagic PCIe card then I could capture via HDMI cable.. hmmm maybe.... But then I'm almost halfway to a HM-100.
