I threw in the towel on the camera...

I need an edit system of my own than I need a camera that I'm not making money on (yet and who knows when), so I'm selling the camera, accessories a case and an extra battery. Check it out here:

I plan on buying the Canon version of this camera (hopefully the XL-2 will be HDV) or any other when the editing (FCP) and more stuff is readily available for this camera. Probably by next year.

Thanks to all who have helped out!

Well, my buddy didn't want to see the camera go, so he's splitting the payments of everything (I bought quite a lot of gear with this) with me, so it's kinda half sold. He has a vision to make money!

Thanks to my friend! We'll be splitting the time with the camera, as he has some projects he wants to do, too.

It's always a bummer when you have to make payments on a cam. That's why I'd rather not buy one if I had to do that. What I do is save up for stuff, however, sometimes---oops, I mean many a time---I'm not successful doing this. I get sidetracked with buying used SLR lenses off e-bay. Oh vey, the pain.

Glad to hear you have it 1/2-sold. Now you just have to get another friend to buy the other 1/2. :)

yeah, I had the money for the camera, just not the HD LCD, warranty, new sticks, mics, cables; etc.

I'm gonna save up and buy a portable DAT recorder. Screw running audio into there (or into an XL-1, too)!

I had finally looked at the consumer version of this cam a couple of days ago. I was surprised how large it was. I wanted to hook it up to a HD TV, but the dealer didn't want to bother. (Future Shop.)

What a moron! That's how you seal the deals!

ps-Caution, don't use this camera in DV mode! It's not that great!

I tried it in the different modes but was only able to view from the viewfinder and LCD. The consumer version's viewfinder was no better than the ones on my old JVC GR-DVL9500s. I found the video mode switch very tricky---it took me several minutes to figure it out. I quess I failed the I.Q. test.
