What exactly does it do (color, resolution, etc)?

Would you guys recommend me leaving it on for my overseas documentary?

Do you guys use it?

I don't own this camera, but there are very few hardware signal processing tricks that cannot be achieved better in post, and this is probably one of them. It's usually best to preserve all your data in its most unadulterated until you're sure you want to change it.

It's a filter that emulates the film look of older movies. There are many to choose from everything from damaged film looks (dust and scratches) to selecting the look of specific film types.

Produce your movie/doc to the best of your ability. Once it's done you can play with the idea of these filters. Most soften the image, and reduce chroma - stuff like that.
