Tests coming soon

Well, I just talked with my friend in NYC; he's going to, for free, make me tapes/down conversions of some tests with a Varicam and my HD10, which I'm shipping to him tomorrow.

I don't know how long it will take to do, but I hope to get everything back by the end of November or so.

He's DP-ing a film and asked if I'd like to send the HD10 up to put side-by-side with the VariCam to do tests. I said, HELL YEAH! Esp. since the tapes, etc. will be free. I think he and his partners want to buy a few HD10s, but want to do extensive tests.

Of course, I will post up results and photos/video.

ps-This is AWESOME!

Hey, it came out of the blue! Jon and I were going to do a short film two weeks ago, but I just couldn't do it with work, college, my film, etc. But this is great, because he's been doing this stuff for a little while and by putting it next to the VariCam, it will be the same basic shots.

My pleasure,

heath

Thanks Heath - good man!!

In the meantime, does anyone have any other footage online? I've got some that I would like to post, but I'll need a ton of space.

Anyone have anywhere to post??

Chris

If we can't put something up here, maybe we could all go in on a website somewhere else, so people can post their video and pictures up...?

But I'm sure Chris Hurd can help out!

I have the space and the bandwidth to host them. No problem. I can't do this for everybody, but for our hardcore regulars like Paul Mogg and Heath, etc. I'm happy to offer it.

Heath -- when they're ready just contact me by private email. Hope this helps,

Yeah, Chris, I'm nearing 700 posts. Wow. I love this board a lot, controversey and all. :-)

Everyone, any requests for my friend in this once-in-a-very-little-while opportunity? I'm just psyched to be getting great treatment. And it only cost $50 to ship, with insurance, to NYC for Tuesday delivery, via the UPS Store (UPS Ground)!

I'm going to email the DP Jon and ask him to break out his DVX100, too, so I can get at least a couple of shots with the HD10, the DVX100 and the Varicam.

Getting a DVX100 in the mix would be fantastic. It would be an amazing three way. It should settle a lot of issues. I can't wait!
