Scan Lines on JVC
How many scan lines does the JVC have in HD mode? Is it 700? The PDF brochure doesn't say.

I couldn't find it, but I also didn't download the manual. Try this:
http://pro.jvc.com/prof/Attributes/f...l_id=MDL101394 or this: http://pro.jvc.com/prof/Attributes/i...&feature_id=11 heath |
The HD frames are 1280 by 720 pixels.
In old fashioned terms, 720 scan lines. The term is muddy, just like DPI on printers and scanners. -les |
Thanks!

Do you mean scan lines like the sampling rez, or the display rez?
I think it samples at 840 lines. |
Well, the res of a single chip cam is even harder to define if looking at the sampling. The rgb bayer, or whatever, layout of the ccd and the algorithm to blend it back to rgb is a difficult process.
It's better to look at the end result, and ignore the internals. How sharp is it, taking images? Compare to others what they get you, when it's finally in the computer. That's where the rubber meets the road. Regular DV cams just look out of focus when compared to this first cheepo HD unit. One chip cams can make very good Images. My Nikon Coolpix 5000 , single chip still cam, makes stills better than *any* current HD camera. 3 chip is a buzz word from the 90's. I shot some skater kids last weekend, and they asked " Is that a 3 chip ?" Funny stuff. -Les |
