Hot lights and color adjustment

I am using hardware bought quartz lights (1000w, 3200 rating) for lighting purposes. They are pretty good (though not HMI). My question is whether color adjustment (to avoid things like red or blue shifting) for the proper tempreture rating is simply a matter of white balancing the HD10. If not then how do I color adjust when using hot lights?

Custom white balance should do the trick...

On another note...here is a link for an alternative to using hotlights...

Do these lights do just as good a job as an HMI?

I'm looking for alternatives too - this is looks like a great lower price.

To be honest...I have no idea...I found the link last night and they are the only company that carries them (they make them exclusively)...but they claim that they have the same output as 1000W tungsten halogens....they also have a color temp of 6000k and a CRI of 85 (not too bad)...

I am very tempted to getting a set and testing them out...I can always return them if they don't pan out...but the idea of having that much light without any heat and long life is way cool...

If you get them could you post a short review? That would really be cool..

Sure will...I am waiting on a couple of checks this week and I will get the stand up one and at least one of the smaller ones for fill...

Will post my review and maybe some sample clips or stills...

Lights

Well, the Quartz lights I bought do a great job. I will say it would be nice to get lights you can touch, so I am awaiting the review of these lights. At the same time I will post any similar products I find in my lights research.

Now I have a bigger dilema...I found another link with some very interesting lighting options...

http://www.fullspectrumsolutions.com/compact.htm

Check out those 65watt bulbs...4100 lumens, 5500k and 91 CRI...equal to a 300w incandecent bulb...and only $29 each

That could be a very cheap alternative...all you need is some nice reflectors and gobs...
