GRHD1U macro footage

Hello all,

I recently purchased a macro lens for my hd1 and was pleased with the result and wanted to post it for you all to see.

As I was just testing, I actually shot sideways to get the full match in the frame and rotated it in post. Not something I would usually do, but interesting none the less.

You can see it at: http://www.4volt.com/dev/macromatch2.mpg

Constructive criticism is welcome.

Hey that's a cool shot. It looks 4:3 though even though you turned it? Why is that?

Also, can you post the place you bought the lense, how much you paid and any other information that might help in our purchases? I'm in the market for a few accessories like macro lenses or wide angle. I'm interested in knowing your purchasing experience?

Thanks and nice work!

Murph

4:3

It's actually cropped quite a bit to be 4:3, that's one thing I like about 1280p, the height is the same width as SD video.

So the rendered view is only about 1/3rd of the actual source video.

I've actually been using ebay for lenses and filters. I actually got lucky and my still camera that I have a wide angle lens for fits on the hd1 as well. Hopefully I’ll have enough budgets to buy all the name brand stuff in the future.

Nice footage! Very interesting music, self composed?

So my burning question is why would you recompose an HD 16:9 image to an SD 4:3 image? Curious minds wanna know.

Thanks, I was quite pleased with how it turned out, I was toying with the idea of posting it turned, but you have to have a massive resolution to view it at 100%. I originally wanted to pan down further with the match burning, but the best footage it didn't burn very much, and there was something wrong with the other shots at close inspection. Another reason is I publish (or will publish) my video online, and HD I think isn't quite ready for mass distribution, mostly because of bandwidth issues.

The music is some of my own, if your interested you can hear all of my recent works for free download at: http://music.4volt.com/

If anyone else finds some music they would like in a production of theirs, anyone more then welcome to use it as long as I can get a copy of whatever your working on.
