Broken Capture

This just started happening to me... Not sure what is causing it. I'm using the JVC Jyhd10 with firewire to capture in Pixela's HD Capture Utility. It seemed to work fine before. If I record a 5 min segment straight through. It plays back fine on the camera but when I try to capture it, it is broken into multiple smaller clips. I need to stop this from happening..Can anyone help me with that. I can't use a deck right now unfortunately. The firewire cable works fine with my other devices. My computer is a P4 3.2Ghz processor with 2 gig of ram. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

try CapDVHS

You could try CapDHVS. free program at http://www.yamabe.org/softbody.html#CapDVHS
make sure to get the english version.

I actually use MainConcept's MPEG Encoder to do my captures. You can select to save as program or transport streams. And the option to capture as one big file or break into multiple ones. It seems to be able to handle drop outs on tape a lot better than the utility included with the camera. You should be able to use the demo version, there is no time limit on it. I recommend disabling the preview during capture option.

Thanks

Thank's Eric...Those are definately some good options that I was not aware of. I just purchased HD Connect from Cineform and it has resolved the issue, but thanks for the additional info..

Just for future reference for other people, VLC also does HD capture just fine, and it's free.
