Review of HD1 on New York Times

It looks like JVC's aerial bombardment campaign is in full swing.

My favorite quote:
Quote:

The GR-HD1 reproduces video using a method known by HDTV nerds as 720p (p for progressive scan)...
I couldn't agree more with the term. <g>

Ken, You have to fill out a form to read the review. Could you just copy the review and paste it here.

No, I cannot. That would be a violation of copyright laws. But it's a free 1-time registration to gain access to the whole site.

Too much trouble. What do they say about the color, image overall?

Paul Mogg May 22nd, 2003 12:22 PM

It's a consumer oriented review, as you would expect, as is also the USA Today review. But they both say that the image quality surpasses mini-DV cams. No mention of artifacts. They are both extremely positive reviews, but no technical details or tests about color reproduction or lattitude. We'll have to wait for someone with more technical savvy to review it for that.

Sounds like a regurgitated press release---I doubt the guy even used the camera---he doesn't mention low light etc----I will wait until they come out.
