Crack in viewfinder housing
I know many have had a similar problem with a crack on the inside "L" shaped housing of their viewfinders and I was wondering how much it costs to fix that tiny piece of plastic?
|
There are a couple of threads about it from last year. I've had 2 of them crack from daily use.
Have a look here. S. |
How much for a new one? Do I have to order through JVC?

Mine has been cracked for months and I was worried about it intitially but after I had it replaced and they gave me the part, it's easy to see that the replacement will crack just as easily and it's not worth the expense. S. |
perhaps the eyepiece should be strapped or wrapped in something to prevent this?

I recommend just living with it cracked. S. |
Can't you put some of that plastic-weld super glue on the crack?
Perhaps if the pice comes off you can put some inside as well which will ad a little reinforcement. There's also a foam type glue that swells up a tiny dab of that inside might work to give it some added strength. |
So far the crack doesn't affect anything and replacing it just means it will eventually get cracked again in a few months. I was just curious since this has been a common problem.

Gorilla Glue Baby!
Hi guys,
I'm on my second crack, and out of warranty. Gorilla Glue works great! Tom |
Yes, I think that's the glue that expands, isn't it? It's amazing.
