Mattebox and battery solution for gy-hd100 ?

Hi. I soon gonna start working on project where i need to do almost all my work handheld. And i would need a battery kit that make my camera a little more balanced. But i will also need a mattebox for 4x4 filters. So i wonder if you guys and girls :D. could give me some tips of what to buy.

Thanks Jonas W

I use Switt batteries with V-loc mounting, but although I dont use a Matte box, the batteries do improve the ballance somewhat.

I use an Anton-Bauer battery and mount. These are terrific for improving the camera balance.

An IDX rebate was included with the purchase of my HD100, so it's what I've been using ever since. I have no complaints. They are a bit cheaper than A/B

if you compear the IDX battery with the Bauer battery. What would give me most balance.

Thomas Weilguny September 10th, 2007 01:31 PM

depends, my IDX battieries weigh about half a kilo, although you can get high capacity ones that weigh a kilo or more. I went with idx because the package got me 2 batteries at a price where i could have gotten only 1 AB.

with the .5kg ones its still a bit top heavy, but handles nicely (Iīm using the .8 wide angle converter though, thatīs pretty heavy too)

i just have to ask one thing about the nikon prime lenses. Where is the best place to buy them?.

Thomas Weilguny September 11th, 2007 03:48 PM

you mean slr lenses? ebay - or your local used photo equipent dealers. thereīs lots of good old lenses floating around.

The formatt FM500 matte box is cheap and cheerful, but you'll probably end up removing the flag as it keeps dropping down...
