JVC HD110u and Brevis 35mm Adapter

While the Brevis adapter can make your camera lens super long and awkward, the image and depth of field that you can get using it has blown my mind. Here is a little test I put together if anyone is interested:

you have a picture of your set-up? I can image it is incredibly long looking. Did you color correct this video? By the way...it look real nice

it is long, but not as much as people think. i shoot with the brevis 80 percent of the time as it works in just about every lighting condition and i have to tell you, flip the viewfinder, snap on the brevis, and it feels like the two were made for each other. i can get some very steady handheld shots with the added mass, and with the focus assist and practice its fairly easy to get good focus.

oh, its great for building those flimsy arms and shoulders too when you add an 85mm nikon, brevis, IDX batt, firestore, and wireless mic reciever. and thats without rails or mattebox!

but its worth it baby!

That looks really nice Todd.
Thanks for posting. An 35mm adaptor is on my shopping list, although I'm not sure what the availability and options are in the uk.

Have you noticed any barrel distortion of the image with these adaptors or is that consigned to the converters?

Could you please post a picture of your setup?

a little heads up...

I've worked with other adapters out there, and I must say I stuck with the Brevis not only because I find the image quite nice and sharp, alsp because it's the least cumbersome of all. As of right now, the setup is kinda long, but a RELAY LENS is the works, which should shorten the whole thing substantially, and hopefully make the image even better, since (IMHO)the Fujinon stock lens is really not that great to begin with. Dennis recently informed me that the RELAY LENS should be available 3 months from now. In the meantime, I'm pretty happy with the setup as it is. BTW, the customer service from Dennis is great-always very prompt to respond to questions.
