No recording with DR-100

Hi.

I can not record with my new DR HD-100

My settings are on the JVC:
In the menu others:
1394 >> synchro
DR-100 >> on

My settings on de DR HD-100 are:
In the menu functions >> JVC GY-HD
HD form >> Quicktime
HDD mode >> HD-recorder

I have the latest version of the software 2.2.1.04032307

What doe I wrong, or what must I change.

Thanks in advance

Regards, Johan

Hi Johan and welcome to DV Info Net.

Make sure the letter "J" is showing in the upper left of the DR-HD100 screen. This indicates that the DR-HD100 will accept control from the JVC camera.
If it is not there, then press the left user button labeled JVC to pass over start/stop control to the camera.

Also, make sure the HDV/DV switch is in HDV position, that you are shooting either 720p24, 720p25 or 720p30, and that the firewire cable is connected to the "DV I/O" and not "Computer I/O."

You will also need a tape loaded in the camera if you are using SYNCHRO mode.
SYNCHRO mode is the most common mode for recording to tape and hard disk simultaneously. However, if you wish to use the DR-HD100 alone without simultaneous recording to tape then set the camera to SPLIT mode and use the REC button on the left side of the camera to control the DR-HD100. The other two REC buttons (on top and on lens) will only start or stop recording to tape in SPLIT mode.

Hi Tim.

Thanks a lot, and so fast.
I'll go try it again with your advice.

One question more, when is the release of your dvd for the JVC.

Thanks, Johan

Hi Tim.

It works!!
I had set my JVC on 720P 50, but that doens't work.

Now it works fine, i'll hope there is a 720P50 in the future.

regards, Johan
