OK you guys need/want good glass, and you don't have it already, I'm planning to have a 13x here in a few weeks. Can't find a local place to rent stuff for our cams, want to go clean and wide often enough, so I'm diving in. You need it, and I'm not using it, it's yours.

Justin Ferar April 22nd, 2008 03:46 PM

If I need it I'll rent it from you and pass the cost to the client.

Great to know that you are taking the plunge Eric.

What are you a trust fund baby or something!?

13x is in the house. What a nice piece. I'll shoot some comparison shots and put them up soon. Haven't had much time lately - been fumbling with wood again... I'll pm you guys who responded here. The image is so different you can see it obviously even in the LCD. It looks to render color a bit differently than the 16x. That or I'm dreaming again. Paolo's gonna' have a look at possible TC alteration settings later this week, hopefully. Thanks for the responses. Look forward to meeting you guys.

Glad you like it! Be sure to make a new white shading (lens shading) adjustment on your hd200.

Mark,

You don't happen to have a 17x on one of those 250's I could ogle at, do you? I would love to check out a 17x sometime. I checked out the 13x at the JVC show in SF last year, but I have my eyes on a 17x, assuming that the quality of glass and build aproach closer the 13x than the 16x. those 13x were nice though. If it was half as much $$$ it would already be on my bag.

Mark Nicholson May 28th, 2008 05:44 AM

Just have two stock 16x lenses for now. I wish I had a 17x, but I will more than likely get a Mini 35 and some primes before upgrading to another 1/3" zoom. I guess it depends on the type projects I will be shooting in the next few months.
