GY-HD100 and "Smooth motion"

What does the "Smooth Motion" setting do on the GY-HD100?

Hi Randy,

If you do a search on this forum, you will find plenty explanations, including pro's and con's, with links to footage.
Basically the smooth motion does some kind of blurring on fast moving images.
To avoid progressive judder at 24,25,30 frames and to have a more video-look.
I used it the first months during the transition learning the HD100 and progressive filming. But now it stays off...

I see... thanks I wonder if it would be advantages for those who like to use 1/30? I shoot weddings currently only in SD but soon HD. I have been tempted to start using 1/30 to get more light but the effect is questionable.

No advantage I could see. 1/30th of a second exposure will practically give you the same effect of 1/60th with motion smooth, but 1/30th will be smoother.
