Blackmagic Intensity 720p/25 capture possible for GY-HD251?

We would like to make a notebook based capture solution for our JVC HD251 but as I found out, the only possible solution for a laptop is the Blackmagic Intensity HDMI capture card, since other solutions require more than PCIe 1x bandwith.

So, for HDMI capture we need a HD-SDI to HDMI converter box and a HDMI capture card (Blackmagic Intensity). Converter boxes both from Aja and Blackmagic support only 720p/50 but not 720p/25. The Blackmagic Intensity specs says the same, no 720p/25 support.

My question is: since we haven't done any capturing of our camera using it's SDI outs, is there any reason to go with 720p/25 over 720p/50? And if we need 25 isn't it possible to get using these HDMI converters? I mean the HDMI converter could double every frame (if it can do such a thing), and we can half the frame rate using software.

Oh and one more question: the JVC output is 8-bit or 10-bit over HD-SDI?
