Yea, I agree...that mic really is not meant to be mounted on Camera. If you could put it on a stand at a strategic location and run a mic cable to your camera...or if you are moble, you could send the mic level signal via a wireless "plugin" system.


Also, John makes a great point...try to get a feed from the house mixer. Most live events are a "MONO" mix. You could use a mono feed (line level) from the sound board on one track and capture a more lively version on camera with the paded down NTG-2. Then do a final mix in post.
