An AC – DC camera power recommendation
 

I thought I'd share this with anyone needing mains power to DC for your cameras etc.

I have two Amplus (www.Amplus.hc) model 0179 AC 100 – 240V 50/ 60Hz to DC converters that can be plugged to between 5V 8Ah & 24V 2.8Ah stepping in 1v increments, so no problem with 12v 5Ah, 13v 4.8 Ah, 14v 4.5Ah and so on.
They are small, very well made, comply with the regs' and are inexpensive. I’ve used these two for 3 years + to power various broadcast cameras, monitors and so on, if you can find them they're a great buy for the either the 7v 100 or 12v 200/ 250 series cameras.

Hi Tim, a very good question I forgot to mention this.

Yes they will. However, you do have to change its output to a 4 pin XLR female plug. Anyone with any doubts about their wiring abilities is very strongly advised to get a qualified electrician to do this.

Just cut off the supplied output end (after the suppressor) and add the XLR plug. Needless to say be mighty careful about the polarity.

When the end is stripped back the Amplus converter output cable comes with a white and a black inner lead. The 4-pin XLR female is soldered on as follows:

Black = pin 1
White = pin 4

As I said I have two, one is wired with an XLR, the other one is fitted with another plug, but I won't get into that for the moment.
