Firestore ETC.

I wonder now with all the new cameras coming out like the GY-HM100 that the Firestores and others like it will be forced to lower their prices?

I got an email from the VideoGuys (sponsor here on DVInfo I think) and they said they were selling the new FS-5 for $999. Big price drop.

If they keep them around 1,000 I may decide to get one this summer instead of starting to save for a new camera.

B and H sells the generic Firestore that works perfectly with the JVC's for $699. That's not a new price either. And not B stock either.

I bought one and it works fine with my HD100. I use Clipwrap to make the .m2t files FCP compatible.

How long does that take? I transfered 4 hours of video last night in 20-30 minutes to my mac pro and started editing instantly after that. I like to think that I saved time with the spending the $500 more for the H100 DTE pro.

Just got an email from Focus Enhancements, their new FS-5 will have the ability to playback footage on the unit's backlit LCD screen. Pretty nifty.
