Getting video to monitor from HD200 (Can't do it..)

Hello,

I'm trying to connect my HD200b to a 17" inches monitor through the Components Out of the camera, so I can see live what the camera is recording without having to looking to the VF or the little LCD.

What i've done:

I've connected a Components->VGA cable to the components out. Because the connectors on the camera are like an Coaxial output, I've connected the componentes using a BNC Male -> Rca Female adapter.

Now... nothing is happening in the monitor, it shows a screen saying that it's not detecting any signal input.

I've been looking to the User Manual of the camera and I can't find anything about this... they only say that you can use this output to connect a deck and use it to transfer data to it...

So, what I'm doing wrong? I'm afraid of doing something stupid, but hey... I've got the cable for months without using it, so I had to try ...

Tell me what you think about...

Thank you,

Jordi.

The camera will be sending YUV component NOT RGB component the monitor will be expecting so I doubt this would work.

I was looking at a Marshall LCD70P 7" camera mounted monitor for my GY-HD 250. Has anyone used this monitor? What are the pros and cons on it . I would love to know before I buy
Thank you for your Help
John

Thank you for the reply Shaun.

Is there any option in the camera to output in RGB?

(And I thought this will be easy, plug and see...)

Jordi.
