Linkified.

That is the same press release which WEVA just pulled from their site only a couple of days ago, followed by an excellent article on ProHD by Steve Mullen.

The only thing I'm not clear on is the rather selective press moratorium. I'm thoroughly confused as to why WEVA has their plug pulled on the same press release and a small photo, and yet this article plus a large high-res image is cleared for other sites.

Don't get me wrong, I'm very pleased to see the press release in Video Systems as well as Steve's fine article, but I don't understand the total lack of consistency regarding the control of what information is released where (and when).

Chris,

Do you think perhaps it is an issue of simply 'when.'

Maybe WEVA would have been okay with posting that article this week, but not last week?

Who knows....

Or perhaps JVC figured since the cat was out of the bag already, they may as well run with it and release photos and press releases to everyone?

Either way, I'm glad it's out there.

Well, my impression was that "when" wouldn't happen until the end of the month... but I agree, it's nice to learn about this sooner instead of later.

If you notice the link to the JVC website in the middle of the article ( http://pro.jvc.com ), you would think from the article text that more photos and text are available there. I couldn't find anything. Anyone?

Yes -- WEVA apparently went a week early. There was, in fact, no Embargo Date" on the PR I got from JVC so I can see why WEVA could have gone early than JVC "expected."

JVC understands that the press, unlike a website, has publish dates that must be met. Today was the day our Newsletter was to go out. It comes-out every other week on Weds.

But there are dozens of questions we all want answered. I don't think we'll get much more until NAB.

Sorry, seems the JVC site is not yet up.
