Why no dual format

Why does the European market get a dual format camera (100E) and the US market doesn't? Would like to hear from Ken or someone who can give an accurate answer instead of speculation.

When you say dual format, what do you mean? Forgive me, but I'm still new to this stuff. Do you mean PAL and NTSC?

No, the formats are ported via BNC jacks and are serial digital SDI & HDSDI:
SMPTE 259M (NTSC) and SMPTE 292M (720P HD)

The question would be what is the price difference. Maybe that will answer the question, if really there is some.

Adam is correct. the Euro version supports PAL and NTSC output via the HD component connections, the North American one only supports NTSC. Even in progressive mode the Euro version supports both 24p and 25p the North American version 24p only.

Hmm.. It would be nice to have 25p, but if I already have 24p then I don't think I would ever use PAL..

As long as I have 30p and 24p, then I'm set.

It would seem if you shot in 720P, @ its native 60 frames per second, that it
would be easy to have an NLE pick out 25 fps for the down convert to PAL.
