HD100 Tip Of The Day! (well, kinda)

So the last two days I've been shooting talking heads in DV 24P. The last 3 years of interviews in my world have been shot with a DVX, so I've been slowly trying to get the camera dialed in to look this way.

The short story is, after going back and forth shooting and then reviewing on our Sony N5U monitor is that the "Standard" color matrix is a great match for the Cine color matrix on the DVX, and the "Cine" color matrix on the HD100 is something else altogether. The "Cine" matrix on the HD100 apprears to mute warm tones just like it's counterpart on teh DVX, but seems to mute oranges and greens even more. The result is skin tones that have a little more magenta and red in them than I like.

My playing around has been far from exhaustive and scientific, but so far what I've shot in Standard color matrix this morning is much more pleasing, and might cut with a DVX without color work.

Anybody else been messing with this?

Nate,
I'd love to see some examples of this if there was any possibility you could post a couple of short clips. My main concern has been the magenta tinted skin tones I've been seeing on all the clips so far, if you've been able to get some more natural looking tones it would be very interesting to see.

Thanks again,
