Shooting for PAL

Hey guys, this is my first post so be gentle...

Just picked up the GY last weekend, and i had a couple questions if somebody oculd help...

1. i shoot interviews and action footage @ NHL games, and the footage is then captured and ftp'd to Finland. Up until now, I'd use an XL1, capture the footage in Vegas, convert it to PAL then upload. Now that I have the GY, i was wondering what the easiest way to go about getting the PAL footage onto my computer would be...

I was under the impression that if i shot in SD mode, i could simply output the footage as a PAL stream right from the camera, is that not the case???

Okay so basically the main question is, if i want to get a standard PAL stream of the audio/video, which frame rate and other settings do i set and shoot in? Any input would be appreciated... Thanks guys
