Optimizing noise levels

Still experimenting with the HD100.

Yesterday I shot a few decent shots using Tim Dashwood's Warm scene settings: (Using 30P)

[WARM]
MASTER BLK -1 CINELIKE OFF R GAIN -2
BLACK STRETCH1 COLOR MATRIX STANDARD R ROT. -1
KNEE MANUAL GAMMA STANDARD G GAIN 1
LEVEL 90% LEVEL 4 G ROT. -1
WHITE CLIP 108% COLOR GAIN 1 B GAIN NORMAL
WHITE PAINT NORM/NORM B ROT. 2

It was real Sunny day and relied on using ND2 most of the time and still having to close down between F8 and F11. I realize I could of upped the shutter, but I did not want that look for this footage.

Well, Tim's warm setting looks great. I viewed the footage on a 50" plasma and it looked nice.
I than decided to load some footage via Canopus Edius 3.61.
To my surprise, it looked noiser viewing it on my PC/Dell 24".

I'm not sure why it appears to have more noise viewing it on my computer.
The video levels are set correctly on the Dell. Considering how bright it was, I am surprised to see noise. I can't help but thinks it's something I'm doing wrong? Gain was set to 0dB and detail was at -7.
The exposure was good.

Any ideas? I know I need to experiment more. I need to play with the Gamma Level with
the Warm preset. It's at +4. This could add some noise, I just have not had a chance to
experiment with all the settings.

My experience is that LCDs always show noise more.

Twist the peaking pot all the way down to see the true picture that's recorded. The peaking makes the LCD look noisy.

Stephen,
I was reffering to my Del 2405 24" widecreen PC monitor.

True, about the peaking on the camera function (LCD).

Stephen, your low light footage of the guitar player looks clean.
Are you willing to share your settings for this?

Also, I've seen some soccer footage that looks like 30P that is real clean even viewed on an 30" LCD. I'm interested in knowing these settings too.

Thanks, Steve
