HD10 V428 Batteries usable with HD100

Wow.

We just ordered the HD100 from B&H in NYC at $ 5200.
I ordered from BH because I wanted the coupon for the free IVX battery, adapter mount plus charger. But the free battery takes weeks to receive.

How long did your IVX battery take to arrive?

During the long wait I wanted to have more than 1 factory battery. Looking at the JVC HD100U accessory page I find the JVC BN-V428, a 7.2V / 2800mAh lithium ion rechargeable battery.

JVC claims this battery gives 40 minutes of run time.

Have any HD100 owners used the V428 battery? What run time did you get?
I own and have 2 of these batteries on hand from when we rented the HD10 for our docudrama shoots last year.

It's nice to be able to recycle these batteries for the HD100 instead of trashing them. They'll be handy until the IVX battery arrives.

For IVX users: How many of these batteries do you go through on an 8 or 10 hour shooting day?

Ed

You guys in the US are sooo lucky getting a free IDX kit, I would gladly wait that long.

The JVC batteries can really run for 40 minutes when continualy recording and mostly without using zoom and LCD. I also have 4 Power2000 batteries that I bought on B&H, these can run for 45/50 minutes under the same conditions, they're 3200mAh. I received today my Swit batteries, they are charging right now. I'm selling my 2 JVC, 4 Power2000 and one Power2000 charger... but I live in Europe. Anyway, email me if you're interested.

SWIT Batteries working well

Like Diogo, I have experienced excellent results using SWIT S-8080A 14.4V 88Wh batteries on my HD100, getting at least 3-4 hrs out of each while shooting continous back to back to back interviews (with minimal zooming). I heard from my dealer that Tim Dashwood tested out the SWIT system and it seemed to work well with the Anton Bauer Mount at about 60% of the cost for batteries and charger.

And if your interested in on-camera lighting, you can power the S-2000 LED Light very efficiently with this battery system.

I know there are many features and potential advantages to the full Anton Bauer system, but if you're price conscious, you might want to give SWIT a look.

For the 2 Swit S-8080A batteries, SC-302 charger, Anton Bauer adapter and the S-2000 LED Light I payed around $1000 in UK. It's probably cheaper in US. I will try it tomorrow for the first time.
