Buying demo units

Supposing I had an opportunity to buy a demo unit of the HD-100(A) and it came with all the same accessories and 1-year warranty, is there anything I should know about doing so? Any words of warning or reason not to?

Maybe (I do not know if it is possible) you can contact JVC and, with the serial number, they could tell you if the unit has been sent for repair(s) and for what particular reason/problem. Also, just verify the general condition of the camera (scratches, signs of banging, etc.)

Just a thought...
