I just wish to thank you for testing and sharing your settings with everyone. I don't have all the equipment to experiment with and your settings version 3 are amazing. I am mostly shooting in SD since my computer is not up to par YET.
My thanks goes out to everyone who is sharing info about this amazing camera. There is a lot this camera can do and reading this fourms helps alot.

Paolo, How is santa cruz? Is there much work out that way?

Hi Joe.

Man, this is the first time I got a thread with my name. You almost scared me :)
You are very welcome, I'm glad that TrueColor is working for you. Tell you the truth, the feedback I'm receiving from so many people has been phenomenal, unexpected, and very gratifying.

Santa Cruz is a really nice place to live, there are a lot of creative people around. Work is what you can expect from a small town which tries very hard to stay small :)

Fortunately LA is just a few hours away :)

Thanks again for the feedback, good luck with everything.

Hey that Paulo is a helpful lad! If my camera had come with an media card i'd be using his setting!
And Santa Cruz is an absolutely gorgeous place. I saw John Lee Hooker there a few years ago (before he died...) and it's also a great place to surf if you don't mind cold water and ahh...great white sharks...

Hey thanks. Yes, SC water is melted ice. I live two blocks from the ocean and I often walk to the beach, just to relax. I can't believe that people just go swim in that freezing ocean without a wet suit. It's my mediterrenean blood, I can't do it :)

Joe, check out http://www.mandy.com and select california - southern from the list of states. Might give you a better idea of the employment scene.

http://www.craigslist.com is another one.

And a thank you here too!

Hi Paolo!
I just want to join the thank you-list...
I am also using your settings, and they work really well!!

I'll say this list is a very good way to have the JCV cam fine-tuned and working as good as possible!

i use level to adjust the mid marker( i don;t knwo how to call it) and brighten up a bit the whole picture, and whole thing look very much film thru telecine.

Paolo, U r great, keep them coming.

Yo, Paolo...

Given that this thread exists, and that Paolo totally deserves the recognition, let me chime in. I've worked on a shoot with Paolo (thanks to Lance Bachelder) and he is not only the brilliant person he appears to be, but he's also a great human being.

But not just a great human being, also a great human being who is more than willing to buy a pitcher of Bass Ale. All the best to you my friend,

Tip

Tip, thank you very much. It was my pleasure to work with you, I really appreciated the time you spent in explaining tips and showing audio/video gear. Hopefully we will repeat the experience one day.

Take care my friend.

Next pitcher on me...

And, my sense of justice demands that I buy the next pitcher. Couldn't that evening because of big drive ahead.

i dont know many stops from lightest to darkest ,but i guess it's about 10stops.

hi, these are the captures from JVC 101E HDV capture using truecolor v.2.
I set all color at zero. as i prefer the warmer tone.

the lighter image was after adjusted the middle bar at levels
overall brighten up and not losing not much of highlight details.
