New JVC HDV deck? Feature Request
I assume that there will be a new VTR replacing the BRHD-50 to playback the 50/60fps rate used by the new mpeg encoders on the upcoming HD200/250 series cameras.
As a note to anyone at JVC, you could walk away with the HDV VTR market if your new mpeg encoder could also record and playback the "other" flavor of HDV as well. Namely Sony's 1080i(50/60). One of the main problems with HDV as a concept is the lack of compatability from the different HDV formats. If you made one feeder deck that could play and record both main formats, you would certainly fill a big hole in the market place. Perhaps even just an optional add-in card for 1080i on your new deck? Just a request from a user... JB |
Can't dissagree with that.
Large tape support Full HDV (all formats) support Full ProHD support including additional audio channel capabilities of ProHD. |
And don't forget affordable.
|
And SDI (SD and HD), AES/EBU, balanced analogue, SD down-convert via firewire...
Unlikely to be affordable, though... In fact, just balanced analogue audio would be a good start. |
And Genlock.

Good point, Tim. I'll second that. Ref in/out please Mr. JVC.

new deck
and I'm sure people will correct me if I'm wrong, but the deck needs to be more reliable and stable. I don't own one, and in truth haven't seen one in the flesh, but as I put forward in another thread, from various threads I've read, the brdh50 has a problem with overheating, and weird effects like not been able to capture unless you reboot them, or that they won't operate after constant operation after a certain amount of time etc etc

I'll agree with you Adam. If you are going to sell crap, at least price it better.

It would also be nice if it had analog component inputs, so that people with the HD100 could record 720p60 from it.
