Any problems with 60p?

I am going to shoota shot 1 hr doc on the weekend and want to do it in 60p, is there any known problems with the audio out of sync... ect when it get conerted back to 30p to go on to the dvd??

The HD100 uses the same scan rate of 59.94 Hz as the NTSC standard that DVD uses, so there should be no sync issues.

Just a note that if you're downconverting from 60p HD to DVD, the more appropriate final format would be 60i, not 30p, in order to preserve more of the temporal resolution of the original.

Since you say you are shooting 60P, I assume you are capturing live via the composite out?

I will capture via fire wire into the mac is that ok??

I am not 100% sure, but if you go the firewire route, you will actually get 30P, and that works out fine. The only way to get 60P, is to do live capture via composite.

unless you shoot with the SD 60p format. It isn't HD resolution but it is progressive scan at the full 60p. Since you are going down to DVD anyways this might not be that bad of an option. From 60p you could easily get a 30p or 60i DVD. 60i would have smoother motion but 30p would give better progressive scan detail on digital displays.

what would i use to downconvert to them ..?
