How do you know if you have an "A"?

Is the HD100a something you buy or is it only something meaning you sent in your 100 to JVC and got an upgrade?

After March 2006 (I think) all new models were shipped as "A" versions. If purchsed before this, you can send it into JVC for a free ugrade (check stiky at the top of the forum).

To check if your camera is an "A," you need to look under the shoulder rest. Pull it back and near the serial number there should be a little "A" sticker.

If you plan to use the DR-HD100, then this upgrade is a must. Either way, it should be done.
