Does anyone use the Monitor Speaker on this cam?
so far, i haven't really seen how this is useful. any monitoring i'd be doing with full headphones, and it kinda seems to just get in the way. i'm thinking i'm just gonna remove it.

I really like having it there. I can't say that I rely on it too much, and ususally carry a good set of cans with me, but for quick checks it's nice to have it.

I also find the earpiece is useful for stabilizing the camera when it's on my shoulder. I press it firmly against my ear and this helps keep the camera from tipping.

I like the idea...but I took it off. Just like using headphones to much, I love the fact that there is another little headphone spiggot up there though.

I don't know about anyone else but on more than one occasion during a take things grind to a halt because of the warning beep telling me my batt is nearly empty or tape is near end. .
This is where someone tells me there is a setting to turn it off, honestly i've never looked. (I probably should........nah it's more fun seeing the look on the directors face) Andy. |

earpiece removal
Gday,
We use 3 HD100's for our church, they're ok to keep on except for when onstage, and the noise levels are high(music), we have fully enclosed headsets with mic booms, and as they're quite bulky we've removed the roaming camera monitor earpiece as it gets in the way. So it depends I suppose as to what style of headphone will be sitting on your head.... Cheers Adam |
I'm really not sure that earpiece is much use at all, to be honest. We took it off after five minutes. I use HD25 cans all the time.
