How big is it?

Not too long ago I posted asking for help in deciding which camera to get, the JVC110 or the HVX200. I posed the same question to HVX users. After considering all the responses I recieved, I decided to go with the JVC- which surprised me because I used to be a huge fanboy of the DVX100.

I just have one more quick question regarding the JVC110, and that is: How big is it? It is difficult to tell from looking at the pictures, the specifications on JVC's site list it as 12 3/8" long, but does not say if this includes the lense or not. So how long is this camera really with the lense?

Idealy I would go check the camera out myself, but unfortunately I live a long ways from a dealer who carries the camera, and can not find time to drag myself away from work to make a trip to go look at it before I order.

if you have a midsize desktop tower, its about, if not longer than the case.

Yeah it's not the big really. Maybe just a tad bit biger then an xl2 if you ever used one of those.

For eng, it is way small. That is one of the main reasons I like it. Once you add the anton bauer bricks, it feels a lot bigger.

Look at this bloke holding it- you will get a good idea of the size.

And I'm about 1m75 (5 foot 10 if I calculate that correctly)....

There are a lot of other pictures on my site with the HD100, you can also easily see what it is with or without the IDX battery solution...

You should model for jvc. Maybe talk them into giving you a free hd250!

Nice setup. Demonstrates the size of the camera perfectly.

:-) that never even crossed my mind. They won't be *that* generous I suppose. Glad I could be of some help...

Werner,

That is a nice setup- but we'd have to wax those forearms for a cover shot!

Werner Wesp December 12th, 2006 07:05 PM

JVC probably won't want to give the impression you need to be a hairy beast to carry this cam... :-)

I got it yeah... and so my hopes for modelling are slashed... :-)
