101 and a Hard Drive

What options are available for recording HDV onto a hard drive from a gy-101?

And does this get around the 8 second capture problem in fcp?

Cheers-
Pete

In the very early advertising literature for the FS4, Videonics claimed that the 1394 port would be able to connect to a firewire drive for additional storage space. I guess they never got around to implementing that idea.
