HD110 in Jungle Enviornment
 

On chance that someone in the readership is interested in knowing how the camera worked in this enviornment and traveling with the beast thru customs, etc, here are my experiances.
1. I did not use the Pelican case because of size not permitting me to carry on the plane, use in a small dugout canoe, or trundling in the jungle. I carryed in a non-descript athletic bag with custom bottom and side supports made from Pelican cubed foam inserts. When a waterproof bag was needed during rain and when in the canoe, I used a SeaLine 75L bag. I had Disicent (sp?) packs in both bags. No problem with customs coming or going.
2. having no HD monitor I used the focus assist and said numerous prayers. Only a couple of scenes were out of focus. As a newbie amateur, I was suprised and thankful.
3. It is a love hate relationship with the camera with respect to manual focus and it's size. For hand held shots, I prefer its ergonomics vs the Sony ZF a traveling partner was using. I envied his AF capabilities. I suspect/hope as I get used to the manual focus, this will go away. Always a compromise in life.
4. On previous trips with the XL1, I had condensation problems, but this trip which was equally humid and rainy, I had no problems.This could be however attributable to the SeaLine bag used on this trip and not a difference in the cameras.
