Overcranking for dummies...(me in particular)

I'm shooting on a HD110e, at 720p50.

My knowledge of overcranking and experimenting with frame rates and shutter speeds just doesn't extend that far, but i'm absolutely desperate to know how to get good quality slow motion footage that i can use in FCP.

I was wondering if anybody could give me a run down of how this is done? Ideally, the shot i'm after is shooting at 50fps, a glorious 50% speed shot. Halving the speed of 25fps in FCP is useless isn't it? Not the best look.

And before you all grumble and shout at me for not reading the manual...! i've read it cover to cover, quite intense bed time reading isn't it.

I've just been experimenting with recording varied shutter speeds and trying to capture. But it's just not something i've ever done before, so i'm almost sure i'm doing it wrong.

Whats the deal guys! Can anybody give me some advice??

Neil
