Help with settings on the HD111

Hi!

My first thread here...
I just gor my JVC GY-HD111E afew weeks ago, but have been way to busy with school and script work to be able to test it out enough.

So the thing is this, we went out today to test shoot some scenes before the real shoot tomorrow. just to get an idéa of what it would look like and what we had to fix. Which was very lucky!, as the end result came out completely awfull! The image was noisy, there were grain all over the place, and the black parts were... well.. just black, they had no info whatsovever.

I had brought an SD card with some scenefiles with me, unfurtunatly in the exitment we forgot to use it, so we pretty much shoot from scratch. Which means no black level, detail level etc were changed. But still, when we looked at the scenes on my 37" FullHD LCD TV we couldn´t believe it would look like this... it´s not even close to usable! Lucky this was just a test done by me (Director), our DOP and our electrician. So it´s not something we intended to use in the movie, but rather just to get an idéa of how the scenes would look and what angles to use etc.
Everything looked nice on our 7" LCD that we had brought with us (connected through the composite out on the camera), but really crappy on my LCD.

Now, I know some of the image quality is to be blamed on my LCD TV as it´s one of the first Full HD screens that came out here, but not all!, it can´t be this bad!

So my question for you guys are as follows... what do we have to do to get a decent image from the HD111?... which settings/scenefiles?
we´re going to shoot 720P/25.
We´ve also decided to do all colour correction etc in post, so we´re just looking for the best settings to get the best image out of the camera!

(and no, we did not use any gain) ;)

fast help is appriciated as we´ll start shooting in ~12h...

EDIT: The scenefile we were going to use was the True colour v3.0, just to try to get as good picture as possible and then be able to colour correct etc in post. But, will it be enough to just load that scenefile?, or do we have to change any other settings to get rid of all this grain and get some more information in the black areas of the picture?
