30 or 24 for Projects

10 years ago when i did my first video for a humanitarian project in Peru, I noticed during the viewing with a about 30 people present, that two women started to tear up during a particular scene that had the right music and words for the scene. As a jazz musician, I am aware of the power of music and lyrics and the effect they can have on a persons mood.

Now that I can shoot in 24p, I am wondering if there have been any studies of human reaction on the difference in speed and "look" of the two modes?

I ask this in context of two projects I have this spring/summer and would like to get the viewership thoughts on the subject.

Project 1...a 7-12 minute promotional film (for funds) for an organization operating three schools for deaf children in Jamaica.
Project 2...an historical documentary using a lot of location shots in mid-west US using historical photos, maps, etc.

thanks much

Jon

Ask Steve Mullen, He's a phd in psychology or something like that and posts extensively on the tech and aesthetics of 24 fps, how the brain sees it and stuff. He's posted a lot here and has a website, Hasn't been around lately.
