What Format Is Best?

Considering the fact that when I shoot in HDV with my camera, I have to put it through the whole DVHSCap and MPEGStreamclip process...is it visually better in the end to just shoot DV? I know that there are other things to worry about like deliverables and what medium the video will be playing on. Let's just say that I want the best video quality with the most flexibility of playing it on the web or off a DVD or airing it on TV.

I know that this is somewhat of a personal question in terms of frame rates and DV versus HDV, but I would love to hear people's thoughts and reasons for those thoughts.

Thanks,
Sharon

HDV vs DV25 isn't that much of a question, I'd say. Always capture in the highest quality possible - and between the two that's HDV. How you process it is a whole different question, of course...

An HD workflow looks better after downconversion to SD than a pure SD workflow does. I've seen it many times.
