Question for HD 200-250 owners

Hi,
I have the 250 and I noticed that switching DNR to ON the grain get a little bit smoother.
Does any of you tried shooting with the DNR ON? Is there any side effect?
My camera is quite noisy and I am trying to find a way to solve this problem.
Thanks a lot,
Eugen

Im glad we've added another to the noise list - i personally shoot with DNR in order to achieve that same effect. I think that it is a hardware problem as you should not be getting such large amounts of noise complaints - if it was a just a problem with settings.

Unfortunately, you may be right about beeing a hardware problem. I hope that is a workaround for this problem other than sending the camera to JVC. The closest JVC rep for me is 2000 miles away.
Let's keep the fingers crossed and pray.....

The possible side effect of DNR is a "streaky" image - sort of like 1/24th shutter.

I've hooked my 200 up to an HD monitor and fiddled with the DNR. Shot into dark recesses that produce a little noise in the blacks with this cam. Couldn't notice a thing with DNR on or off. Even whipped the camera around fast and slowly and again- could not see anything.

Whatever DNR does- it's not obvious.
