Which UV?
Hey, guys. I'm tossed up between these two UV filters. I wondering if any of you have experience with either. And, if there's really a difference between the two.
Here they are. http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/produc...ss_Filter.html http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...cessory_detail The Tiffen filter is slightly more expensive. But is the extra 30 dollars worth it? |
How about Hoya?
Standard for 43.50: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...ughType=search or Multi-Coated for 58.50: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont...ughType=search Here's the whole assortment from B&H: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/cont....x=0&image.y=0 Since they go all the way up to $144.95 for B+W and $132.95 for Formatt (both multi-coated) I would be inclined to get Hoya Multi-Coated if I were going toward the low end. |
Would there actually be a noticable difference in quality to the human eye with the hoya filter?

Douglas,
It is 100% worth buying a decent multi-coated filter, even if only UV. The main reason being that it minimizes reflections into the lens. A cheap filter will be terrible. I have a HMC super Hoya filter that I leave on my lens and it is great. I actually picked it up cheap on ebay without a mark on it. |
