An Important Note Regarding Scene Files on DV Info Net

Under no circumstances whatsoever is DV Info Net to be used as a marketplace to "buy" or "sell" downloadable scene files for JVC Pro HD camcorders, Canon XL / XH camcorders, or camcorders of other makes and models that accept scene file settings.

Scene files posted to this site must be offered up for free, or traded for other scene files.

I will immediately remove any reference posted to this site which solicits monetary payment for a scene file, including links to off-site locations. I will not accept advertising which markets scene files for sale, nor will I allow posts which offer payment in exchange for scene file settings.

Scene files need to be offered and exchanged FREELY. I can't begin to express just how strongly I feel about this. Several of our DV Info Net members, in particular Steven Dempsey, have put countless careful hours into scene file development and they have graciously given them to the DV Info Net community for free. That's an excellent precedent that we've established here, and we want to continue it throughout the entire site. Successful scene file development is its own reward; the file creator reaps the benefits of his or her work by employing the file in their own videography. Sharing files with fellow members for free, or in exchange for other files, fosters goodwill and the community spirit for which DV Info Net has become famous.

I intend to keep it that way by insuring that "scene file profiteering" is kept off of this site.

We've enjoyed a significant degree of popularity from our downloadable Custom Preset files for the Canon XL and XH camcorders; in the very near future we're going to expand that success by encouraging JVC Pro HD owners to step up and share more scene files for the HD200 and HD250 series camcorders. As this is by far the single busiest and most active Pro HD community on the web, I'm looking forward to the wealth of scene file settings that will be freely exchanged here.

Thanks in advance for understanding,
