M2 and Frame Rates

I was wondering if the 24p frame rate was the only frame rate to use to get the film look? I noticed in the Red Rock Theater that some test footage was shot at 50i @50f. I realize that is a Canon XLH1, but do any of your JVC guys out there shoot at oher frame rates and shutter speeds with the M2 or other 35mm adapters/

i shoot at 30p. these adapters are independent from your film rate.

Shooting 24p with 1/48 shutter gives you the motion rendition of film. If you're not looking to duplicate the look exactly and are only going for depth of field, you can use any frame rate/shutter speed combination you want.

Be warned, however, that since M2 uses rotating ground glass, using too quick of a shutter speed can "freeze" the grain pattern of the glass in a frame. You'll have to experiment with it yourself to see how fast of a shutter speed is acceptable for your purposes.

Thank you gentlemen. I am going for the film look. I have been shooting 24p at shutter 1/24 with cinelike off and motion smooth on. I do like the look of 1/48 with the 24p.
