HZ-CA13U and Canon FD Lenses?
Hello Everybody !
It's maybe a stupid question, but I need an advice. Can HZ-CA13U work with my old Canon FD Lenses (for example 50mm 1.4) or Nikon Nikkor Fisheye 10.5mm (without vignetting). Which option of this adapter should I order to use with these types of lenses? What do They(JVC) mean in their HZ-CA13U brochure(Lensing Options) by Standard Primes and Master Primes ??? Thanks for answer. |
Hi Tomasz,
There are no stupid questions around here. The HZ-CA13U COPLA uses only the Arri "PL" mount (positive lock.) There are many Nikkor lenses that have been modified to PL. There may also be some PL to Nikon F or M42 mount adapters floating around. I have no idea if there is a PL to Canon FD adapter. I'm sure one exists somewhere. However, in your part of the world I would be looking for some OCT-19 or Kinor16 lenses that have been adapted for Arri PL. The back flange distance of the Russian lenses is very close to 52mm BF of Arri PL. In fact, I recently purchased a 16mm Kinor 10-100 that had been modified for PL by an expert in St. Petersburg. It has some vignetting, but I actually like the look. Otherwise it is very very sharp. Standard Primes and Master Primes are just names used to differentiate between different series of Zeiss cine lenses. |
Tim,
Thanks for very quick answer. In my opinion you are Guru here:) Regards |
Tomasz.
I may get into to trouble for mentioning this but have you thought of using a Nikon to JVC adaptor? I manufacture one and I'm also working on a Canon FD to JVC adaptor. http://www.mtfservices.com Cheers. Mike |
