gy-hd100 hidden menu
 

Hi All,

I have found the advanced hidden menù on the gy-hd100..
it can be shown pressing "*" and "*" at the same time..
there are some parameters.. does anyone know which are their functions?
I'm scared to try ... i saw something also to flip the lcd.. but it seem to be left/right flipping.. i don't understand its meaning...

That is the service menu, be careful because if anything happens to the firmware of the camera you could void the warranty. I had my system firmware upgraded on mine, and I saw the technician press those buttons.

You have found the ADVANCED MENU, which is primarily used to check firmware versions and mask dead pixels (among other things.)
The advanced menu is not designed to be widely accessible to casual users of the camera, but the access combination is frequently given out over the phone by various JVC service centers to users with dead pixels, and is also part of the firmware upgrade procedure found on the JVC website.

In keeping with the status quo here at DV Info Net, I have deleted the reference to the actual buttons used to access the menu. We don't want anyone 'playing' in their advanced menu, getting unexpected results on their next shoot, and then blaming us for it!

I recommend that if you do experiment with any settings in the advanced menu, you write down the original settings so that you can easily restore them. Do not use PIXEL COMP unless you absolutely have to. You can find more information on this procedure by searching for the phrase here on dvinfo.net.

BTW, there is also a separate service menu with very cryptic menus that would require a companion service manual. I've only seen it once and had absolutely no idea what any of it meant.
